Russia Achieves Record Non-Resource Export Volume of Over $96 Billion in the First Seven Months of 2026

MOSCOW, RUSSIA / RankWire.AI / – As of July 2026, Russia’s exports excluding resources and energy have surpassed $96 billion for the first seven months of the year, reflecting an 8% increase compared to the same period in 2025. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced this year-on-year growth in the latest report on Russian exports. The figure specifically excludes the country’s traditional raw materials and energy exports. This seven-month total continues the upward trend seen during the first half of 2026. All figures are denominated in U.S. dollars.

Russia non-resource exports top $96 billion through July
Russia’s non-resource exports topped $96 billion through July 2026, rising 8% year on year.

In the first half of 2026, Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov highlighted that small and midsize enterprises contributed approximately $15.9 billion to the overall export sum, which makes up around 17% of Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports for the period. Currently, about 42,700 small and midsize firms are engaged in export activities. These SMEs also accounted for 1,042 of the 1,341 applications submitted for the 2026 Exporter of the Year awards, representing 76 regions across Russia’s eight federal districts.

Earlier data from January to June show Russia’s industrial non-resource, non-energy exports reached $58.8 billion, compared to $57.1 billion during the same months of 2025, marking roughly a 3% year-on-year growth in this sector. The Industry and Trade Ministry identified several manufacturing sectors that posted higher foreign sales, shedding light on the key contributors to Russia’s non-resource export performance in 2026.

Growth in Key Industrial Sectors Continues

Exports of chemical products increased by 5.3% during the first half compared with the same period last year. Shipments of mineral and chemical fertilizers grew by 10.4% over six months. Exports from metallurgy and precious metals rose by 5%, while light industry experienced a significant 25% growth. Additionally, pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and cosmetics saw an 11% increase. These figures encompass industrial shipments classified within Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export segment, with all growth rates comparing January through June 2026 to the corresponding months in 2025.

For the full year of 2026, Russia has set a non-resource, non-energy export target of $155.25 billion. Out of this, industrial products are expected to contribute $116.95 billion. In 2025, the country recorded $163.7 billion in exports from non-resource, non-energy categories. Consequently, the 2026 goal is approximately 5% below the previous year’s total. These targets are part of Russia’s International Cooperation and Export national project, which includes industrial goods, agricultural products, and export infrastructure development.

    Long-term Export Goals for 2030

The International Cooperation and Export initiative also establishes a 2030 benchmark for non-resource and non-energy exports, aiming for a target of $248.1 billion in nominal terms. This figure represents a 67% increase compared to the 2023 baseline used by the program. Out of this total, $192.9 billion is allocated for industrial goods. The Russian Export Center supports this effort through various services, including digital platforms tailored for companies engaged in international trade.

Current data indicates that Russia’s exports of non-resource, non-energy products from January through July have exceeded $96 billion, with SMEs contributing $15.9 billion. The first-half industrial exports reached $58.8 billion, showing growth across chemicals, fertilizers, metals, light industry, and pharmaceutical-related products. All figures for 2026 are calculated in U.S. dollars rather than rubles. The annual export goal for the broader non-resource category remains set at $155.25 billion, with industrial exports specifically targeting $116.95 billion for the full year.
